About The Author

A Writer Empowering Souls, Healing Lives

Melodie was born and raised in South Carolina, settling in Charleston where she has lived for the last twenty years.  She has worked in a number of different jobs, everything from a Nurse's Aid to a tech at a Fish Hatchery, but absolutely loves her current position as a histotechnologist.  In her spare time, Melodie enjoys spending time in nature, traveling, and participating in activities her friends call “extreme sports”. Her love of books began with reading bedtime stories with her father and has continued into adulthood. In writing 8 Months of Hell, she has fulfilled a lifelong dream to write a book herself.  Melodie’s hope is that this book will offer a glimpse into human psychology, express the importance of therapy, and familiarize readers with techniques to support those experiencing the life-changing devastation of PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury.
